Backstage Adventures at the Ford TheatreThe Petersen house is another one of those very fascinating and moving places to find yourself in. I have taken the odd picture or two there. ;) I will be using it in my magnum opus on the assassination, but I'm going pretty light on it on this flight of the assassin theme. I'm interested in any sites associated with Lincon, or any of his cabinet, the assassins, etc. Any suggestions are eagerly welcomed. The Ford museum has one cabinet that they rotate artifacts in and out of, although I did not realize that until my last visit there. Previously, they had the bloodstained pillow Lincoln died on. Now they have Major Rathbone's uniform. I'm wanting to go back each week so I don't miss anything! BTW, the last time I went there the theater closed, and I went around back to take pics, and noticed a door open. heh heh heh. In the old days, I wouldn't dreamed of going in, especially since there was a play rehearsal in progress, but these oppostunites present themselves for a reason right? So......in I went. Met a very nice lady right in the hall who was the dramaturge for the play, who was initially NOT impressed to see me coming in the rear door. Fortunately, before she had time to summon a security guard, one actually showed up, heading out the exit on his lunch break. And I must have been, what, two feet inside the door? Faced with an unfriendly member of the play executive, and a stern security guard, I ended up getting the exact door Booth exited from from the guard, who then left, and a review of the play and her name from the dramaturge as we walked to her car. Might even have got her phone number too, if I'd tried. Ah, thank goodness Mum and Dad passed on little of that ol' family charm. Gotta use it more often. (She looked like Debbie Allen, and got a lot friendlier when she figured out I wasn't the stupid tourist I hoped they would take me for. Of course, I did end up going to see her play.....She's probably telling them about the idiot she conned into seeing the play. Hmmm... Oh well, as long as we're both happy.)
